Do you like playing games? Do you enjoy cooking? Do you like to occasionally have more than just soda pop and potato chips as snacks for game night? In this Monday blog series, game industry personalities will be sharing some of their favorite recipes for game night munchies. Welcome to Gaming Gastronomy! This week our puntastic pie comes from Tony McRee of Rolling Dice & Taking Names.

Tony McRee (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Web, YouTube) is one of the hosts of the Rolling Dice & Taking Names Gaming Podcast, known as “the Other Guy.” One of his game groups favorite games is Pandemic. Many times the game is brutal and will quickly dash the hopes of the players. But then there are those times when the game allows a victory that isn’t that hard fought. But then there are those moments when it comes down to the bitter end. The time when you know that Pandemic has done everything it can to destroy the world, but the players have fought hard and come away triumphantly. Those times deserve the king of all desserts…PIE!!! And one of the easiest to make is the Inside-Out Oreo Cream pie. Why Inside-Out? Because the cream is there on top of the Oreo crust, just like when you twist an Oreo open and expose the goodness inside. Celebrate your hard fought victory for those tough games with a slice of pie.

Inside-Out Oreo Cream Pie

Ingredients:

2 cups Oreo cookie crumbs (18-20 cookies)
5 Tablespoons butter, melted
1 Package of cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1 – 8 ounce container Cool Whip, thawed & divided
2/3 cup Oreo cookie chunks (6 cookies)
1 – 3.9 ounce box instant chocolate fudge pudding mix
1 cup milk

Instructions:

Combine the cookie crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture into a 9 inch pie plate. Refrigerate while you mix everything else.
Beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until creamy. Fold in 1/2 cup Cool Whip. Stir in the cookie chunks gently. Spread in the bottom of the cookie crust.
Whisk together the pudding mix and milk. Fold in 1 cup Cool Whip. Spread over the cheesecake layer. Top the pie with 1 cup Cool Whip. Refrigerate before serving. Serves 10.

In the coming weeks, check back here on Mondays for more delectable recipes from personalities around the game industry.
