Writing-Editing-for-Gaming

I am once again teaching Writing & Editing for Gaming for the Professional Writing department at Taylor University during the Spring 2019 Semester, which starts next week! My syllabus is complete and guest speakers scheduled, but I am scrambling to pull together my opening topical presentations for the course. I could use your experiences and insights for an early discussion in the semester.

I have two questions for you, my readers, that can really assist with my course.

  • What do you consider the best written/edited RPG?
  • What do you consider the best written/edited Tabletop Game Rules?

Of all the RPGs and/or Tabletop Games you have played, which do you feel really stood out for their writing and editing? What would be great examples for my students, possible future writers and editors in the game industry, to use as inspiration? I have my thoughts on these questions, and their antithesis, that I am planning for a historical overview of text in gaming discussion I will be leading early in the semester. Your experiences in gaming and personal thoughts on this matter could influence that discussion.
